Wanted

Hi, everyone!

I am currently looking for someone to help and join me in the team. Please help if you are interested.

Available positions:

1. Japanese – English Translators

Good manga starts with a story. Likewise, good scanlation starts from translation.

I am looking for someone whose Japanese is his/her first language or one who is learning Japanese and confident to give it a try. Since most of the projects are based on the everyday-conversations, I don’t think it will be really hard to translate. He/she must also have a strong foundation in English, although one is not required to be an English native speaker.

Needed: 5 people (or more).

2. Chinese – English Translators

Requirements:

-) English as the second language.

Since we have good proofreaders, the applicants do not have to be a native speaker of English. However, they still need to have a good understanding in English. While advance grammar is not required, they still need to be able to read from their first language and translate it to a proper English.

Needed: 2 people.

3. Proofreaders

Must be one whose English is his/her first language or one whose English is not his/her first language, but is good and confident in grammar.

Needed: 2 people.

You can contact me at kaor1.chan (at) yahoo (dot) com

    Hi!

    RE: Translator

In my country, all Daichohen Doraemon already published (total 45 vol), and Doraemon Plus (currently 6 vol).

I can help you to translate into English if you would like.

    IO

  2. kaor1 Says:

    Hi, IO.

Can you shoot me an email for this? It will make me easier to keep everything on track ^_^
And thanks for your availability, anyway.

Just want to correct you, actually, Daichohen Doraemon only has 24 volumes, while Doraemon Plus only has 5 volumes.

The one that has 45 volumes is Doraemon Main Story, and I don’t scanlate it, since another group has done it already. And the one that has 6 volumes, I’m not sure what that is, but I’m pretty sure that Doraemon Plus only has 5 volumes.

Hello! I’m not sure if the positions are still available, but I would like to try for position 1 & 2 (Japanese-English translator/proof reading). I studied Japanese for 4 years in university.

    Hi!
I have had a little spare time recently, so I would gladly proof-read Hero o Mezase for you. English is my first language and I’m good at grammar.
    Please consider me – thanks!

    Hi, cloudcake16 ^_^

Thank you for your interest in helping us. I sent you an email already :D

Hello. I’d like to try for #4 cleaners especially daichohen doraemon.

  8. Miyazaki438 Says:

actually, I have thought of this again and I feel that I cannot make the commitment of working with translation every day for about an hour or two. Please erase my comment.

  9. Iruren Says:

    Hello..
I’d like to help with proof-reading (especially for the doraemon series)
English isn’t my native language, I’m not sure what the exact requirements are, but I think I’m not bad at english grammar.
(I was thinking of emailing, but then I wasn’t sure whether I’m good enough or not).

    • kaor1 Says:

Hey, thank you for your interest, but the proofreader position is currently closed. Maybe I forgot to mention it, I’m sorry >_<

      • Iruren Says:

Oh now I see that it’s closed.
Haha, it’s okay. If it ever opens again, I’ll apply again. (Since that’s the only thing I can do I guess XD)

  10. amelia Says:

Hi, there. I’d like to try for a cleaner of the team and I’m especially interested in Daichohen Doraemon.

    • kaor1 Says:

Hey, thank you for your interest, but the position of cleaners is currently closed ^_^
I appreciate your comment, though :D

      • amelia Says:

I see. If it opens again, I’ll apply then. I wanna try to be a cleaner, any project is fine ^^

  11. Annieli Says:

umm…hi…i have taken chinese 4 ten years and my mom came from China…i would like to do the chinese to english translations…nut i’m not to sure where to find the raws…

    • kaor1 Says:

Hey, thank you for your availability :D

Unfortunately, I can’t provide any RAW except for the Japanese one, so I can’t say anything right now. If by no means I could find the Chinese RAW, I’ll contact you again. Thanks ^_^

  12. Ta-chan Says:

Hi, I’d like to help out by translating Japanese into English. I understand both Japanese and English.

    Thanks

  13. April Says:

Hello. I’m interested in the japanese translator position (if it’s still open). I can translate the everyday-conversation types but my knowledge of kanji is quite limited. I’ve been studying japanese for about 4 years in school but I study independtly at home too.

  14. daybreak666 Says:

Hey, I’d like to be a proofreader. English is my first language and I have fairly good grammar and spelling.

    Thanks

  15. hottiechan Says:

    Hi!!
I’m very interested in being a proofreader. Please let me know if the position is still available. English is my native language and I am good at spelling and grammer. I have also proofread articles for a Canadian magazine.

    Thanking you in advance
    Vanessa

  16. Sora Says:

    Hi there

I’d like to apply for the translator position. I am a native Japanese speaker, so Kanji’s are fine. I don’t usually need furigana either (except for people names since there are really weird ones in manga). I did my undergrad, MS, and most of Ph.D. in N.America, so my English is as good as most native speakers. I am currently volunteering for another website translating manga (several chapters a month). Let me know if I could help out :)

  17. jameh Says:

Hey there! I’m a typesetter for imangascans , though i have not worked on anything yet ><. If you need a hand at typesetting I'd be more than glad to help. XD

    • kaor1 Says:

Hey, thank you so much for your offer, but for now, we don’t need a typesetter =)
We’ll be sure to contact you if we need one, though. Thanks again!

  18. Pharmerboy Says:

    Hi There!

I am interested to become a translator. Chinese (Traditional) is my native language and My English is not too shabby either (ie. I’ve been an English-speaker for 17 years). Please let me know if you need help translating Daichohen Doraemon. Thanks!

    Bruce

    • kaor1 Says:

Hey, there. I’d love to accept you to our team if you really want to :)
It’s just that I don’t have the RAW for Chinese, so unless you have the manga itself, you can’t helped us translating. Looking forward to your answer, though. You know that we’ll always welcome you :D

  19. Hira Says:

    Hi !
If you still need proofreaders, than I can help you with that. English is my second language, but I’ve lived in Canada and America for about 12 years, so my grammar is pretty good.

    Hira

    • kaor1 Says:

Hey, thank you so much for your offer, but we don’t need a proofreader for now. If you’re still interested in the future, I’ll be sure to contact you, though :D
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I forgot to remove the proofreader part on this page.

      m(_ _)m
