Some of them do, but some of them don’t. I think the volumes that are missing the cover are 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, and 9.
Thank you so much for your over, but I think I’ll prefer the Japanese one. We can leave the scanlation without a cover for ones that don’t include the cover

Mindofwonders: It sounds interesting. But what volume is that? I don’t remember reading it in this Daichohen Doraemon volumes. I only have RAW for the original Daichohen Doraemon (24 volumes). So if the one you told me is not included in these 24 volumes, then I can’t do it. I’m sorry

Well I remember that the 1st book of the fairyland adventures were definitely not in the 20s series, somewhere around the 10 to 19? Hmmm…
Well to be more specific for the 1st book,
Nobita eats a strange fruit that can only be seen during a solar eclipse or some other strange weather condition. Some time later he turns into a tree in his room that bears 2 fruits (white and black). Later 2 fairies found the fruits stating that the black fruit feels malicious…
It is later found as Doraemon and the others went looking for Nobita, that Nobita comes out of the white fruit and in the eyes of humans, he does not exist as only through a solar eclipse that faeries can only be seen (Doraemon uses one of his tools, a solar eclipse glasses to see the faeries.)
During the same time, the black fruit tears open and out comes the dark side of Nobita…
That’s all I remember…I gotta look through my storeroom for the book. Can’t remember which box of comics I put it in…
This dark side would eventually become enemies in the 2nd book which I remember are around the 20s series.
I don’t really remember much as this book was lost to me about…10+ years…sob…
What I do remember is that Nobita had to learn something to save everyone but it will cost his life…Some kind of voice told him that…This particular voice was seen helping Nobita in the 1st book by giving him some armor and I think it the other was a sword? I’m certain there was new armor as Doraemon and the others was saying something about the new armor.
If its possible, can you list down the titles? I’ll try to see if any of the titles fits my memories. But then again translating stuff to my country’s language tend to make it sound simple…its worth a shot.
Are all the 24 volumes is just all there is to the Doraemon adventures? I’m not counting any that is done during like from the 2000s to currently for these 2 books. I know I saw the chinese edition for the 2nd book around the early 90s.

Well, definitely not vol. 10 (Nobita in animal planet), vol. 11 (Nobita and dorabian nights), vol. 12, 13 (Nobita and labyrinth), 14 (Nobita and 3 musketeers), 15 (Nobita and his genesis), 16 (Nobita in the universe), 17 (Nobita and toy planet), 18 (Nobita and pirate life).
It could be 19, since I haven’t read vol. 19 yet, but I’m not quite sure if that’s the one, since it doesn’t seem that vol. 19 is talking about fairy land.
If you can find the book, it might be the best way ^_^

Found the book but umm…it called vol. 18…
The title is simply called Nobita and the Magic World when translated into English. The whole point is the light fairies versus the dark fairies/demons and the demons try to bring the end of the world. The adventure was cut short in the 1st book as the demons were ‘cancelled’ by a boy genuis from the 22nd century who created the fairies and demons but unable to do so earlier as he had fallen ill.
But still the demons came back in the 2nd book. Can’t remember why.
The quality of the printing is so bad. Think of it like photostat in the old days…But don’t worry its a manga definitely by the original artist as they have his name on the side of the book and I did saw a chinese edition of it before. I thought it might be doujinshi but just who in their right mind would go to the trouble of translating japanese from doujinshi way back in the early 90s? Hardly anyone is even translating doujinshi now.
And it would seem to be of the later series as the art style would seem to be a more simplistic like the level of the ‘DORAEMONS’ (Really simple).
I know there is another company currently printing the adventure series and the main series are now in reprinted in english but it is only distributed/sold in my country (no plans to make it international). I’ll go look for it. But it might be the same 24 volumes you have.
Might they be more adventure series than we thought? The Internet is not showing much info on Doraemon…sadly.

Yes, unfortunattely, it’s different from the volume 18 I have. Mine is talking about the story when Nobita and friends meet a famous pirate and so the adventure is taking place in the sea.

Uhm, it’s me again. Can I ask something? You said that other artists draw the story after Fujiko F. Fujio died. So Fujiko-sensei draw Daichohen Doraemon until what volume? No info in manga-updates either.
And I think it is a really good idea to list all the titles for the volumes. It is helpful to know the titles, as I also had a few of the volumes (translated in my language), but some were sadly lost a long time ago…

Fujiko F. Fujio drew the volumes till vol. 15. Volume 16 was the first drawn by his students. The quality of volume 16-20 are not so poor, however, compared to vol. 21-24.
I don’t want to say that the drawings are really bad, but concerning how much different it is now from the original drawn by Fujiko F. Fujio, I kind of sad for the new generation. However, either way, the story is so interesting, and for ones who don’t feel bother with the drawing style, Daichohen Doraemon will always be one of the best selections from Fujiko F. Fujio series.

I really love volume 12. It’s the one where they were on cloud kingdom. It’s my favourite but already I am forgeting most of the storyline,,, which is bad!! I would really be grateful if you could translate that.
THIS CONTAIN MINOR SPOILER Secondly, after reading vol22 where we see Doraemon used his head as last weapon, I remembered suddenly that there was a similar scene in earlier volume. I think he was tied up and he had no other choice but to sacrifice himself and bash something with his head. Was quite a touching scene. Anyone remember which volume is that? (is it vol 12 indeed?)

There actually is one story between vol 12 (the Cloud Kingdom) and vol 13 (the Tin Labyrinth) called Nobita Saiyuki.
It was actually quite interesting and was even made into a movie, yet, sadly, is not publish in daichohen tank. Do you guys know if I can get the RAW of that anywhere? and if you guys are interested in scanlating that?

I think you’re talking about the Nobita and the Magic World books mentioned by Mindofwonders. I read the first and briefly read the second book and as far as I recall, that was the ending of second book.
Nobita was given a scroll, told that it was the final spell and to be very careful in using it. He ended up using that spell, died and was resurrected.
I hope someone would scanlate these two books soon. I found that after the first printing, these two books were shelved and made as if it didn’t exist. I tried to find a copy, but it was no longer printed, with some other books being substituted with its number.

I do have RAWs for Doraemon, but I don’t think I want to do it for now. Lacking of translators is one reason, but Doraemon alone is too long. I’ll think about doing it after I’ve got more staff. For now, I want to stick with my current projects first.

The ones I watched don’t have subtitles, so it’s pretty hard for me too. But I watched some in my native language, so I don’t need subtitles. I think I watched vol. 1, 3, 4, 5, 18, 20, 23, and some others.

Honestly, I’ve never ever thought to drop this project. Ever. I really want to finish what I started, and I still have that desire. Unfortunately, I also have a lot of things to do aside of scanlations, and unless someone’s willing to help me translate this project, I can’t do anything except keeping this project frozen for the moment being

Hardy: yup, same here. also, i prefer the legend of sun king. really awesome movie. and the soundtracks are good too. you should check it out. i’m currently translating subtitle for dorabian night, and will move on to legend of sun king. the only problem is, i’m doing it alone, and my mid-sem exam is really, really around the corner. so…i’m halting the translating process now.
kaor1: i can translate the book from my native language, which i found rather similar to the japanese version. do you want the translation, if i ever have some time to squeeze in between?

If you would, we still have vol. 12, 15, 16, 17, 20, 23, and 24 completely untranslated, and vol. 11 & 13 are 1/5 translated.

well, they’re a lot, but the voice actor keep changing. i think there was like 3-4 voices for doraemon. only recently they’re using the same actor as in the anime series in the tv. pretty good dub actually. anyway, what native r u?

But I think we don’t have to be Indonesian to like Doraemon. It’s such an unfortunate if people don’t know this story. Although I like many other mangas now, Doraemon will always be in my heart. Hopefully, I can finish all the volumes and not end up dropping it ^_^

Thank you so much for scanlating these Doraemon epics, it is my childhood favorite and I’ve never forgotten it! Finding that it is still being appreciated enough to be scanlated made me so excited to finally be able to read Doraemon again, including the volumes that I didn’t have previously.
I hope these scanlations for the Doraemon series will be completed, and I’ll be happy to support in any way I can.

I was looking through the list of Daichohen Doraemon, and I can’t find a favorite title from my childhood. I don’t remember the exact name of the title but i can describe the plot. It’s basically a dungeon & dragon fantasy themed story. it revolves around humans with wings, magic and Nobita emerging from a cocoon gaining wings. I can’t remember the exact details.
Anyone who has an any idea of what the title is, please comment. Thanks
P.S. I have been goggling for the title to no avail.

We will not pick up Fujiko F. Fujio’s manga for now, since we want to concentrate on our current projects. But we might in the future if we’re still interested.
